Leann Parker-Reed for Murray City Council District 3
In Murray we are fortunate to have hard working city staff, fire fighters and police officers who are motivated to make Murray great and keep its citizens safe.
Safety
I want every citizen to feel safe and know that their emergency needs can be met. I also feel that we have the opportunity to offer health and wellbeing resources, which can improve our city as a whole.
Health
Murray has many resources for health related concerns. I believe that every citizen deserves the opportunity for complete healthcare. I have a desire to see whole family health practiced in our city.
Community
I like that this year is bringing several opportunities for gathering our community. The Murray Mansion Museum Grand Opening and the Block party celebration. Murray also had the opening of the New Armory. In addition there are upcoming plans for opening the newly renovated Murray Theater. These are amazing community builders. I am excited to continue with ongoing events that include local businesses and neighboring cities. Our citizens are very innovative and full of talent. Lets build an amazing community together.
Budget Clarity and Transparency
I would like to be able to provide Murray Citizens with more transparency, clarification and understanding of the City budget.
Civility
I believe how we treat each other individually or in a common group, even while voicing different opinions can be civil.
Preservation
I believe that preserving our history will build a lifelong legacy. I feel it is important to our community and it's health to preserve our natural resources and create more greenspace throughout our city. I also believe in cultural preservation. We should embrace our roots and share that with the community.
Growth
Businesses, houses and people all need growing space. Preparing our city for the influx of people and buildings means we will have need of more infrastructure. More emergency personnel. More thoughtful planning of future developments. More community involvement. I look forward to being part of this process.
I intend on listening to the citizens in District 3 as well as all Murray citizens. I will vote to the best of my ability to accommodate your needs and wishes. I will also be learning and exploring how best to serve our City now and in the future, as a whole.
